Pondskaters - this can be said of most water insects that they are the mood makers and the wild fire crackers. Most want to start fights and show the other who's boss on the other hand there are those that search out trouble whenever possible and can look a kyojin in the face and not care about consequences. Most of the times they are injured the most due to their careless attitudes.

Tentomushi (Ladybugs) -The tentomushi are masters of knowing the weather patterns and button pushing. They usually hang around arcades and are masters of the video game. Programming is their language. Their rivals are the Kamakiri.

Kamakiri (Mantis) (Mantids) -The mantids are the thinkers, bookworms and technicians. They have their antannae poked deep inside a machine or other computer. Electronics are their big thing. Either that or they are at the library studying dusty literature.

Cho/Ageha (Butterfly) - They are the ones who think they are the most beautiful creatures on the planet. They take the role of the defensless, helpless mushijin, or more often they are the ones to master the art of the sword and dance. Anything that's graceful is usally mastered by them. They are the masters of Psiji as well as a majority of butterflies have this ability. Chojin are those possesing the rounded wings and are more centered, Agejin are the scalloped type wings and are more aloof.

Ga (Moths) - The moths aren't the most pretty looking (so they say) but they are very similar in the ways of grace to the chojin. They are most the ones with swords or dance, though they tend to be more prone to singing. More outgoing than the butterflies. Second on the Psiji list, they tend to master more destructive and constructive aspects of it.

Kuwagata (Stag beetles) - They are strong and they know it. They mostly enjoy pushing around Tentomushi and like the art of warfare. They have a large distrust of kyojin and cuss at them more than anything. They seek the destruction of the ningen and anything else. Though some have come to terms and don't think this way.

Kabutomushi (Rhino Scarabs) - Posses more self control than the Kuwagata. They like to only fight when they need to and are more about centering themselves. These mushijin are the ones who obtain the most knowledge of Hand to Hand fighting. They tend to have a close friendship with one person especially who is not always their lover, but more times than not love is expressed in the relationship. They also tend to have close friendships with others but not as close as the one. Older Kabutomushi tend to let others lead and act as support and guidance.

Koganemushi (Scarabs) - They are the ones who master the art of hand to hand combat. They don't enjoy the battle as much as Kuwagajin do but they can usually outlast one in a fight. Also they are a bit on the quiet side. They are more prone to stay fit and get fit and take care of their friends.

Kanabun (Scarabs) - These are the hornless scarab types. Their more frightening aspect is the fact they have no external mushi characteristics, they look exactly like a human. No antennae, no horns or carapace. These scarabs are more of a homemaker than a fighter, though they are scarabs none the less and can put up a fierce fight. They tend to take at least one HtoH form and learn one melee weapon. They are also more of a jokester, making fun of a situation. Though they don't put people down. More of a big snuggly teddy bear type.

Yanma (Dragonflies) - Swordsmen like the butterflies, but a bit more adventerous, they don't distrust everything like the moths and butterflies do. They are also masters of the bow and arrow and like to have races with the Tori senshi. Though due to the recent war, they don't do that as much. They are the ones most populating the Pyramid currently as they really have no idea what the war is about.

Pillbugs - Those cute rolypoly bugs. They tend to be the eternal children, always asking why and getting into innocent trouble. A bit more than the Pondskaters. They are also the most knowledgeable with tactics and stradegy.

Kumo (Spiders) - Viscious and nasty. Masters of poison, armor and the claw. They are mostly fighting on the frontlines against the Tori due to their violent nature. They are cunning and deciveing. Though they do kill other mushi they are not so cruel as to kill innocent mushi. They get into the most trouble with boasting Kuwagajin. Their poison can kill a kyojin in about a minute.

Sasori (Scorpions) - just as nasty as the spiders but they put more into brute strength. They enjoy the acts of torture and get turned on when it involves a bird of prey. Though they only torture other morijin type, not mushijin.

Hachi (Bees) - Bees tend to be the most rounded type of mushijin. They do have stingers that they use to defend themselves. They mostly are a community based mushijin society. Pretty much do everything as a group effort. It is rare to see a single Hachijin fighting in a group. They get along with most every mushijin even the spiders.

Suzumebachi (Wasps) - They have a strong sense of battle and honor, the front line soldiers. They realize their stings are unparalled in the mushijin realm and their commuinty pack orientation can take out a whole squad of tori. Not in the best mood currently and react violently to kyojin.

Batta (Grasshoppers) - A cross between the laidback curiousness of a gokijin and the clever wit of a kamajin. They tend to want to the be the leaders. Not as skittish as the gokijin, but more so than the other mushi types.

Inago (Locusts) - They sometimes form bands like the bees do but they are a more naughty form of grasshopper, they usually want to be in the spotlight. They want the world to revolve around themselves. Though if this is not the case they tend to be quiet and introverted.

Semi (Cicadas) - They tend to be the ones that seem to always tell people all the bad that can happen, before, after or during a situation. They enjoy anything that involves fortune, and usually take every sign from them as a bad one. They don't like kyojin much and they get annoyed when they are told they are wrong. Most of them like to paint or collect pictures.

Koorogi (Crickets) - The most quiet mushi. They tend to let actions speak louder than words. No ones for conversation they prefer a simple quiet lifestyle. Most of them take up a string insrtument of some sort, such as a violin, viola or cello. They, however, are not cold hearted. They are the third top species of mushijin to possess Psiji ability.
