Episode 3: Deadly ChoGa

Iliem woke early that morning. He walked out into the Main Stage where Arett was sleeping again. The aphid was also asleep, curled next to Arett's warm hair. Iliem stroked the aphid and smiled, he enjoyed having it around. He then walked outside, he was going to explore this place, he wanted to see what owned the coin he had found. Outside he admired the plants that were growing around the Base, they kept it nice and well hidden. He passed between the large blades of grass and he entered onto his quest.

Zeren had slept in his car, his binoculars rested in his lap. All the night he hoped to catch a glimpse of a UFO streak and go after it. He fell asleep instead. A bird landed on the edge of the rolled down window and peered inside. It chirped waking Zeren up.
"Aliens...must....grrrmmm...." he mumbled out and rolled over, his binoculars hit the floor waking him up completely. He bolted upright, the bird leaped up and lost it's footing and fell from the window hitting the ground with a chirp. Zeren peeked out only to see the bird bolt under his car. "Just a measly bird." He opened the door and stepped outside. Stretching he went in search of any alien eggs he might find. Seeing the kyojin leave, the Tori Senshi under his car breathed a sigh of relief. He thought he was caught for sure.

At Flame's house, Corwin was in the kitchen finding ingredients to his favorite breakfast food from Gennsu. He was trying to put together enough to feed Flame as well. So far he had the flour, water, egg and cheese he needed. He only wanted to find the salt now. Pushing various containers of stuff around the counter helped him get to the upper cabinets. Though this column was double stacked and Corwin had pushed it too far. The top canister fell off the counter and onto the floor. It spilled it's contents all over the place. Corwin whimpered, now Flame would be mad with him....but wait. That was the salt he needed. He grabbed a plastic bag and climbed down his rope made from towels. He then started to fill up the bag, he'd clean up the mess afterwards.
Little did he know that Flame had been watching him most of the time. The sound of Corwin pushing the canisters across the counter had woken him up. He was hiding around the corner watching Corwin make him breakfast, he didn't want to interrupt. He was enjoying the now ghost looking Corwin. Corwin had accidentally dropped his bag of flour all over himself and was a dusty shade of grey because of it.
After Corwin's bag was full he dumped it into a dirty measuring cup and then pushed it to the bowl He then stood on an upsidedown measuring cup and slowly spooned it into the mixing bowl. Bits of flour and egg were stuck amongst the grains of salt. He finally had spooned it all in the bowl. He looked into the bowl, pondering on how he was going to stir the contents. He found a chopstick in a jar next to the sink and tried stirring the contents with that. It wasn't going very well. Flame came into the kitchen, faking the fact he was waking up. He saw the mess Corwin had made. Corwin stopped stirring and stood by the bowl with his head down. Flame scritched Corwin's head crest.
"Is it OK if I continue from here?" Flame asked, Corwin nodded his head down. Flame found the stirring spoon and continued he played with Corwin's wings on the side. Corwin looked up at Flame who smiled down to him.

Zeren was creeping through the grass on his stomach (in his labcoat). He wanted to get a drop on any of the aliens he found. Zeren saw a few dome shapes looming ahead. 'Ha ha' He thought to himself and he crept closer to it.
"Thinking your going to get a drop on us, eh kyojin?" A voice called to him from the tree. He looked into the tree and saw nothing. He got to his feet and looked closer. A spindly insect was sitting on a tree branch.
"A talking insect?" he pondered to himself. He picked the insect off the tree and examined it. "This is a...pondskater. What is it doing up in a tree." He turned to the domes and crouched beside them. "Very interesting structures...these must have been done by the aliens!" The pondskater squirmed in his grasp. "Yes, yes, this must be your base!"
"Hey mister?" He heard a voice call from him. Zeren whirled around to get a drop on the alien. There was a kid standing there.
"Ha!! You must be the alien!" He pointed and proclaimed. The pondskater struggled some more.
"Mister? Who are you?" the kid innocently went on.
"I! Am a member of the Alliance Against Alien Presence!" He stated in full diction and pushed his glasses up to emphasize presence.
"Auhm......Do you like Zergese?" the kid asked.
      "Zerg-what?"
      "Zergese...the new show on TV."
"Ha! And what might this show be about?!" Zeren grinned. The kid went next to the domes and produced several small vehicles with accompanying action figures.
"See, we have Captain Maverick..he goes off and..Mister?" Zeren's eyes and widened and then his head fell.
"Toys...I see....." Zeren sniffed and went back to his car. The pondskater bit him. Zeren looked at it then found a nearby lake to dump it in. It landed with a sploosh.
"Bah. It must be those toys that were talking!" He surmised as he walked away from the lake.
"Damn kyojin! I dinna want ta get wet, NE!!" the Pondskater shouted from the lake..Zeren was too bummed and angry to listen.

Kawa was examining the roach he had caught the day before. He has his magnifying glass out and was looking at the roach's legs. The roach was stiff with fear.
"Well....your a male that's for sure." Kawa proclaimed. If a roach could blush this one would definitely be blushing deeply. The roach remained still in embarrassment. Kawa let the roach go on his desktop and watched it skitter under a shelf. He then picked it up again and put it outside his window. He loved looking at roaches and now wanted to breed them to scare his parents and Keiko. Kawa would never killed any of the roaches he caught, but a few had been injured when he dropped them onto Keiko. Naturally she freaked and slapped them off of her.

Arett woke up at 1400 again to the face of Aphid. Arett once again went outside and got it some fresh food to eat. Arett smiled and crossed his antennae with that of the Aphid.
"Hello." Arett sent to Aphid. The aphid paused.
"Who are you?" It seemed to reply.
"I am Aerenis." Arett projected feelings of want at the aphid. The aphid munched a few more bites.
"You will kill me?" It asked nonchalant almost as a statement more than a question.
"No. Never!" Arett hugged the aphid close to him and warmed him up.
"What then?" It asked..Arett didn't know. He wanted to keep the aphid, but it seemed the aphid didn't care where it was as long as it was fed. Arett wished the aphid was more than just a common insect. He also wondered if he himself could communicate with the small insects back on Gennsu. Most of the insects on Gennsu were treated very much like insects on Earth, except no poisons were used to kill them, though many Mushijin save the Gokijin kill roaches and the kin. It made Arett shiver, the roaches here would be too big to simply squish with a foot. Gokijin were treated about as bad a the small roaches at their feet. Shoved aside, ignored, insulted. The Gokijin would just look at the ground and find a corner to stand in, out of the way. With Arett, he had Taku looking out for him, and when Taku found Arett in a corner, he pulled him out of it in a heartbeat.
Arett put the aphid down on the table and went to the bedroom to do some serious thinking. So far the days were going good, nothing much had happened and only one Tori Senshi had attacked. He wondered how hard it could be to colonize a planet. Soon the Genoproduction components would arrived and they could start having little Aretts or Wheitos running around. Even little Arett-Wheitos. Arett frowned at the thought of kids running around. Hopefully some other group would be in charge of reproduction. Arett himself knew very little about natural reproduction and was very naive of the subject.
Wheito was outside planting fruit trees that had just dropped from orbit and complaining about how no one was helping him. This was to ensure the Base had food if the food supply from Gennsu was ever cut off. Wheito snitched a few appleberries while he was working. Eiji was under the shade re-configuring his holoboard to the new magnetics of Earth. Taku was writing a field report for Arett, with all the military jargon included. Taku sighed, he longed to be back on Gennsu with Arett. Taking him to different places just to hear him say, "Maybe I shouldn't be doing this." and Taku shoving him into some new activity. This mostly was at the Pyramid that Taku was always getting Arett into things. Making him play this new game or that new game. Forcing Arett to sing Karaoke with him. Taku had the deep voice that lulled you into a state of lovely sleep, sighing at how sexy his voice sounds. Though Taku never thought he was very sexy at all. Arett would sound good if he ever raised his voice above a whisper when he sang. Even Eiji could sing better than Arett, if Eiji ever tried Karaoke.
Many Gennsujin liked the handsome young Gokijin and a few asked him out, though Arett mostly turned a deep red color, looked away, mumbled, and shuffled off.
Taku reflected then on Arett's first kiss. It was out by an appleberry tree on a hill about a year after Taku met Arett. Taku smiled at remembering the shade of red Arett turned and how wide his eyes became. Taku wondered if the kiss meant anything to Arett, since he didn't talk about it much. Taku looked at the door to the Base as if he could see Arett. He finished the the report and went inside to Arett. He wanted to help Arett through this trying time.

Iliem however was scouting out an about for the other inhabitants of the world he was now forced to live in. He flitted on the breeze as if he didn't have a care in the world. But in Iliem's mind a lot was going on. He was using his Psiji to scan for any life that seemed to be advanced. He wasn't getting any pings. Tired he landed on a field of blue and went into his Gennsujin form. He tossed his ponytail over his shoulder and onto his back and sighed. Though the field puzzled him. He took a closer look, it was a grass blanket he was standing on. The ones used for picnics. Looking at the size of the blanket he was surprised.
"Kyojin!" was all he whispered. He walked a bit near the end of the blanket and looked at the giant basket that held the kyojin food. Iliem started towards it when the blanket became taught under his foot. He turned around and looked. It was a kyojin! Iliem jumped back and summoned his sword, he examined the kyojin. It was a child about 2 or 3 years old. Iliem stepped back away from the kid and looked up, the kid was looking down on Iliem a finger in it's mouth. It came for Iliem and started to reach for him. Iliem shot up in the air as a purple streak and a half crescent flash later a spout of red shot out of the child's neck as it tumbled backwards. Iliem landed back in the spot he started from and looked at the child for movement. There was none, the child was dead. Feeling no remorse, Iliem snorted and put his blade away, he then pushed his bangs out of his eyes, turned and walked away. After walking for a time he became the ChoGa that he was flittering on the breeze. He heard the terrified and shocked shouts behind him, but they drifted away like the breeze. He headed back to the Base where he simply walked up. Wheito called to him and Iliem ignored him going into the Base and taking up his usual, pillowed perch on the windowsill. They would ask nothing of him and he would say nothing...as he usually did.
