From watching your video I really don’t think the translation is that bad. It is at least accurate. Sometimes I feel like they miss the nuance of the phrasing a little, but since the meaning gets across okay, and considering that the subject matter is pretty abstract to begin with I think they did a good job.
Well I’ve seen them on other games where they change the names of character completely, and sometime “Wooleyism” it I tend to be a bit critical of even the nuances. I know in Dragoneer’s Aria there was a scene where you go into the Black? Dragon’s cave and the character says “あれは…” and the subtitle was some long huge block of text. It was also another one where they name changed.
This game might be one of their better translations though. I’ve just been jaded with Phantom Brave and Dragoneer’s Aria.
